THE START OF MUSSEL SEASON IN ZEELAND WITH OUR CHEF.

On July 3, mussel season opened in Zeeland. Despite challenging weather conditions, the quality of the mussels is outstanding.

July 3 marked the long-awaited opening of the mussel season in Zeeland, a region renowned for the exceptional quality of its seafood.

Despite a difficult year due to weather conditions, this season’s mussels stand out for their remarkable quality. Our chef, Alexandre Ciriello, had the honor of being selected from a list of prestigious chefs to present his version of Moules Natures.

At an exclusive dinner reserved for the press and public figures from the Netherlands, Alexandre Ciriello successfully elevated this iconic dish.

He stayed true to tradition while surprising guests with innovative touches: spices like vadouvan, a tuile made from mussel shells, and a subtle hint of yuzu.

This culinary performance paid tribute to the mussel farmers, who attended the event in large numbers, and delighted journalists with a respectful and creative approach to mussel cuisine.
