Delvaux in Brussels with our chef, Alexandre Ciriello.
Some collection presentations are designed to be seen. Others are conceived to be experienced.
In Brussels, Maison Delvaux chose to unveil its new Spring-Summer collection within the unique world of Galila’s P.O.C., in the heart of the Belgian capital.
For this special occasion, Alexandre Ciriello, chef at L’Horizon, created a four-course gourmet menu, extending the experience beyond the discovery of the new designs.
Guests from diverse backgrounds were brought together for the occasion in Brussels to share this exclusive moment, in an atmosphere where Belgian creativity took on many forms.
The evening was also attended by Jean-Marc Loubier, CEO of Delvaux, lending the event a very special significance.
A House Born in Brussels
The choice of Brussels resonates naturally with Delvaux’s history.
Founded in 1829, the House is deeply connected to the Belgian capital and the history of Belgian craftsmanship. Delvaux is today recognized as the world’s oldest luxury leather goods House.
But its history is not merely one of preserving heritage.
Over the generations, Delvaux has constantly explored the connections between craftsmanship, design, art, and innovation. The House also champions an approach in which identities are forged through dialogue and where traditional craftsmanship can meet contemporary forms of creation.
This philosophy resonated particularly well with the setting chosen for this presentation.
Galila’s P.O.C.: Art as a Meeting Place
In Forest, Galila’s P.O.C. defines itself as a contemporary cabinet of curiosities.
The space brings together Galila’s personal collection of a multitude of works, objects, and references within a deliberately free and surprising universe.
More than just an exhibition space, Galila’s P.O.C. functions as a true space for discovery, where works can be juxtaposed, connected, and reinterpreted.
This is precisely what made the space particularly interesting to Delvaux.
The Spring-Summer collection was not presented in a neutral setting: it was placed within an artistic universe already rich in forms, materials, and stories.
The House’s creations thus became an integral part of a broader visual experience.
Four tableware sets designed by Alexandre Ciriello
This artistic dimension was complemented by gastronomy.
To complement the evening, Alexandre Ciriello designed a four-course menu, specially crafted for the occasion.
Through his cuisine, the chef develops a contemporary approach inspired by ingredients, travel, and encounters. His international collaborations have, in particular, allowed his vision of Belgian gastronomy to shine in very different contexts.
For this evening, the cuisine itself became a creative language.
Each course set the pace for exploring the collection and offered a different way of approaching the concept of creation: through taste, texture, seasonality, and technique.
Detail as a Common Language
There are, in fact, many similarities between fine leather goods and gastronomy.
At Delvaux, a piece is the result of a series of precise gestures, carefully selected materials, and meticulously passed-down craftsmanship.
In the kitchen, the same principle applies: an ingredient, a cooking method, seasoning, texture, or presentation may seem insignificant when considered in isolation, but becomes essential to the final balance.
In both worlds, the result depends on attention to detail—things that aren’t always immediately apparent.
Perhaps this is where the true common ground between Delvaux and L’Horizon lies.
An evening designed for an international audience
The event also had a distinctly international dimension.
Carefully selected guests were invited from various countries to gather in Brussels for this special occasion.
Choosing the Belgian capital made it possible to bring together around a single table various facets of contemporary Belgian creativity: a historic luxury brand, an independent art space, and cuisine crafted by a chef with an international outlook.
The presence of Jean-Marc Loubier, CEO of Delvaux, naturally enhanced the exclusive nature of this gathering.
Hakuna Matata, at the heart of the gathering
This experience was also made possible thanks to the collaboration with Hakuna Matata, the event’s partner.
At this type of event, success does not depend solely on the venue or the talents gathered there. It also depends on the ability to forge the right connections, bring together key figures, and create cohesion among different worlds.
The collaboration with Hakuna Matata helped foster these connections between the House, the guests, and the various participants in the evening.
A Different Perspective on Belgian Craftsmanship
Beyond the collection and the dinner, this evening conveyed a broader message.
It brought together a fashion house founded in Brussels nearly two centuries ago, a contemporary art space that champions its freedom, a Belgian chef whose cuisine takes you on a journey, and an international audience that came to witness this gathering.
Delvaux, Galila’s P.O.C., and L’Horizon ultimately share the same territory: that of creation.
Different disciplines, different techniques, different materials—but the same desire to create something that transcends the object or the dish itself.
For one evening, Brussels thus became the meeting point of leather goods, art, and gastronomy.
An experience where the collection is unveiled, where the cuisine is savored, and where Belgian craftsmanship is showcased in a new light.
Because true luxury lies not only in what one possesses, but in the experience one creates around it.
